NiP announces the new LoL lineup

Only a few days ago we parted ways with our old lineup and now it is time to announce the new team. Some of you might have guessed it. Others haven’t. Our new team consists out of five well known players and three of them are familiar with the NiP family!

The first player of the team is Erlend “nukeduck” Våtevik Holm who will once more take the role of being the midlaner in the NiP squad. Two other familiar faces are joining him in the botlane. Of course we talk about nobody else than Aleš “Freeze” Kněžínek and Alfonso “Mithy” Aguirre Rodriguez who will hold the NiP flag for another season. Now to the two new faces. A young and very talented Norwegian player known for playing for Cloud 9 Eclipse last season will fight the minions in the jungle. Naturally this man is nobody else than Tri Tin “k0u” Lam. This leaves only one position that hasn’t been revealed yet and this player is known for his success! The former Gambit Gaming team captain and mid laner, Alexey “Alex Ich” Ichetovkin will switch his lane and take the spot as top laner in this new lineup. The lineup will play in the EU Challenger Series in order to qualify for LCS Spring 2015!

NiP.LoL is:

  • Ru Alexey “Alex Ich” Ichetovkin – Top
  • No Tri Tin “k0u” Lam – Jungle
  • No Erlend “nukeduck” Våtevik Holm – Mid
  • Cz Aleš “Freeze” Kněžínek – Marksman
  • Es Alfonso “Mithy” Aguirre Rodriguez – Support

Statement of Gustav M. “flabbert” Karto, Managing Director of NiP:

After the team disbanded, we allowed any of the players that needed a place to stay, to remain at the gaming house while they considered their options. This gave mithy and NukeDuck the opportunity they needed to build up a new squad, a building process we followed with interest. When we saw the full lineup being finalized we realized that this lineup had real potential. So today we are very happy to announce the return of Mithy, Freeze and NukeDuck to Ninjas in Pyjamas, while we also welcome two new faces, Alexey “Alex_ich” Ichetovkin and Tri Tin “k0u” Lam. We are very excited about this new chapter and what the future holds for them, and hope that fans are too!

For the longest time, it was Alex Ich who made Gambit as strong as they were, without him I feel like they will suffer a lot more in the LCS. Alex is a great player and I think he will bring a lot to the NiP.LoL lineup especially since we’ve been seeing the synergy amongst the ranked 5’s team “Rest in Pepperonies”! Also like to mention the fact that K0u being the downright carry for C9E and without him you can see how terribly they performed. Hopefully come next promotion, K0u will be old enough to be in the LCS and if so, we have a top 3 team on our hands. With all the support that NiP as an organisation have been providing Alex, I feel he will be so appreciative of this absolutely amazing thing to do(seriously, never has such heartwarming dedication to ensure the players their happiness touched eSports before) that I feel like he will show up ten times the amount he did for Gambit and ultimately the new Ninjas in Pyjamas LoL should be here to stay because they are absolutely amazing. :)
